Q - How much will the league cost?

A - For teams in grades 3-8 the cost is $115 per team. 

 

Q - How far will teams have to travel? 

A - We are looking at 3 tiers of travels:  1-25 miles, 26-45 miles & 46 miles and beyond. Our goal is that a teams travel will fall in the first two tiers.  A few things can impact that: number of teams in the league, your location, and finding appropriate competition. 

 

Q - How many games will teams play on each league date?

A - We will schedule 2 games for each team on league dates. 

 

Q - Does this league allow co-ops between community programs. 
A - Yes. We would expect programs that co-op at the high school level would want to co-op.  We also understand that there maybe some programs that have had co-ops in the past because of low numbers.  DSL Admin will need to approve any league co-ops for programs that don't currently co-op at the HS level prior to registration closing. 

 

Q - Can players from the same program play on different teams with in the same program. 

A - Yes. We realize that it is necessary for players to sometimes "play up" on another team because of low numbers.  However, players can not "play down" below their grade level unless they have received permission from the League Coordinators prior to registration closing. 

 

Q - Who will host these games?

A - This a traveling league, so the different programs within the league will be expected to help with hosting responsibilities. 

 

Q - Who schedules and pays for officials?

A - It is the host school's responsibility to hire and pay officials.  Most programs are paying between $25-$35 per game.  DSL will provide an official's directory to participating programs.  

 

Q - Will there be grade level divisions based on competitive skill levels?

A - Yes. We are asking that each team choose their skill level when registering (A, B or C).  We will build a schedule that takes into consideration several factors including:  like skill levels, travel distances, variety of opponents. 

 

Q - Will we play the same teams through the course of the season?

A - Our goal is that no team has to play the same team twice throughout the league season.  We can offer greater diversity with scheduling with more teams entering the league.
